If you’ve been blessed to visit Greece you are definitely aware of its cultural heritage, fascinating history and distinctive personality formed by its rich history, people and art. Crete’s long history, unique morphology that is mainly characterized by its landscape diversity, climate, pure and generous people as well as its world-famous cuisine, form the special aura of the island.

An aura closely related to slow living. The mystical energy of the sea, the lung-filled fresh air, the naturally and rich in nutrients raw ingredients, is the epitome of the authentic Cretan lifestyle, which is intrinsically healthy and life prolonging. Plato once said “The greatest wealth is to live content with little” and that is exactly the Cretans’ philosophy. Focus on balance and connection, living a meaningful and fulfilling life, adopting high standards of living with less pressure, less stress, and more time for everything.

With such a generous heritage and authentic unique philosophy, it was inevitable for us to draw our inspiration from the Cretan artistic culture and Mediterranean thinking. Our Native Beach Villa was born from our passion to introduce the Cretan culture and
the Mediterranean philosophy to all of you by creating a house that combines efficient, sustainable design with locally-sourced materials and a respect to the site’s history and lifestyle. A house that reflects the traditional charm, authentic lifestyle and modern minimalism. A place where you can uncover the soul of Crete.

Interior
Measuring 82 m2 the one floor Villa accommodates 2 bedrooms (a double bedroom and a twin bedroom), 2 bathrooms, a living room and an open space kitchen. The living room merges with the incredible view surrounding thanks to the large scaled
open window in front of the natural-style pool. Various decorative elements derive from the Cretan art such the lace covers of the bed and sofas in traditional Cretan derived patterns, pottery items and wooden elements reflect a style deeply rooted to its surroundings and architectural heritage. It is a celebration of traditional craftsmanship, and a bohemian style interior design, presenting a tactile, laid-back luxury atmosphere.

Exterior
Shaded by the large pergola, the outdoors living area with the BBQ at the heart of the house is flanked by the living room and kitchen volumes whose large openings create a seamless transition between inside and outside. A few steps away, the heated
natural-style pool almost curved in the landscaped gardens with the sea looming beyond stretch out below. The use of Cretan stones and wood on both the interior and exterior of the house, all in beige and earth tones create a warm and welcoming feeling. Meanwhile the jacuzzi placed on the rooftop allows the gaze to wander across the Cretan blue sky and Mediterranean Sea. Whichever way one looks at is, Native Beach Villa is the sort of home that Cretan island living dreams are made of: one that is at harmony with its surroundings, that honors local cultural traditions, and that is tailor-made to provide the best for its residents.

“The mystery of Crete runs deep. Whoever sets foot on this island senses a mysterious force coursing warmly and beneficently through their veins, sensing their soul beginning to grow,” wrote, the world famous Cretan author, Nikos Kazantzakis.
